Black Boxes II explores the relationship between the archive (a collection) and the narrative (a careful arrangement of that collection). In this project, I worked with the archive of old family photographs I bought in bulk from multiple sellers on e-bay. I selected 10 images from the collection of 1000+ and created a fictional narrative about an un-gendered character who died in a plane crash and then woke up in their afterlife to find that they only existed inside a photograph, one that was “pinned to the wall by a stranger.”
